By design, a great deal of learning takes place beyond our classrooms and studios. The extensive program of exhibitions and lectures offered by the College complements the formal curricula.
The Chang Gallery is the site of a lively array of touring exhibits organized by museums and arts agencies. The Gallery also hosts displays of work by outstanding professional practitioners, alumni, faculty, and students.
The Oscar Ekdahl Memorial Lectures, the Lee Bryant Memorial Lectures, and the Lapping Lectures provide funds annually to bring distinguished professionals, academics, artists, and critics to the College for presentations and short periods in residence.
Generous support from the University Fine Arts Fee helps the College bring leading designers and scholars to our campus throughout the year for public lectures and visits to classes and design studios.
Each year talented younger graduates of the College are recognized as Alumni Honorees, and an accomplished mid-career graduate is named a University Alumni Fellow. They return for several days during the spring or fall to discuss and exhibit their work and to meet with students.
