Tourney is Classified Employee of the Year

It is easy to nominate Heather Tourney as “Classified Employee of the Year” for 2008 from the College of Architecture, Planning and Design-nearly any superlative readily describes Heather.

As the administrative specialist in our very busy Office of Student Services for the past two years, Heather deals with a high volume and wide range of activities-student recruitment, selective admissions, financial aid, health and family crises, study abroad and first-year instruction.

Heather is intelligent, professional, hard working, reliable, friendly, discreet, ethical, patient, accurate, calm, articulate and diligent. Her wonderful sense of humor and healthy work perspective allow her to effectively deal with near constant interruptions, an extremely fast pace, a heavy workload and changing priorities. She has a wonderful ability to anticipate what needs to be done without being asked. She gets along well with everyone-visitors, parents, faculty, fellow staff and students.

A highly valued and valuable member of our CAPD family, Heather is most deserving of this award in recognition of her hard work and efforts on our behalf.
