Paul Weigel Dies
Paul Weigel, Lenexa, an architect and former professor at Kansas State University, died March 7, 1984, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Mr. Weigel was head of the department of architecture at Kansas State University from 1924 to 1954 and was a department professor from 1921 to 1924. He was an architectural adviser at Ataturk University, Ezrum, Turkey, from 1957 to 1959.
He was a registered architect in New York and Kansas and an honorary fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He was a past president of the Kansas chapter of the institute and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture. He was a 1912 graduate of Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.
Mr. Weigel was an Army veteran. He was a member of the Village United Presbyterian Church and the Rotary Club. He was born in New York and moved to Leawood from Manhattan in 1964.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Marie Coons Weigel of the home; two sons, Dr. John W. Weigel, Lake Quivira, and David Weigel, Kansas City; and four grandchildren.
