Former Staff Member Passes Away

Peggie L. Armour, 57, of Wamego, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan following a sudden illness.

She was born Oct. 13, 1948 in Modesto, Calif.  She married Patrick E. Armour, Sr. on Aug. 26, 1967 in Wichita, and they moved to the Wamego area in 1971.

She was employed as an accounting clerk for the College of Education at K-State.  She had also been an accounting clerk for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Flush and the Black Jack American Legion Auxiliary in St. George.

In addition to her husband, Pat, she is survived by two sons, Patrick Armour II, of Topeka, and Robert Armour of Kiowa; three sisters, Chesley Nichols of Tom Beam, Texas, and Vannase Seely of Sacramento, Calif., and Marie Farber of Modesto, Calif.; one brother, John Seely of Nashville, Tenn., and two granddaughters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Flush.  Burial will follow in the St. George Township Cemetery.  She will lie in state beginning at 1 p.m. Friday at the Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday evening with a visitation until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
