Thursday, September 7th, 2006

Tom Hollinberger, BArch 1979, has been named assistant director of K-State's Career and Employment Services.

Tom Hollinberger has been named as assistant director of career and employment services at Kansas State University.

Hollinberger serves as CES liaison and career advisor for students in the College of Architecture, Planning and Design and the College of Engineering. In that capacity, he will work closely with college faculty and staff to develop classroom presentations, student group outreach and other programming to meet students’ wide-ranging career interests. He will also consult with employers from the corporate, non-profit and government sectors to meet their hiring needs.

Hollinberger replaces Jessica Wolff who left earlier this summer to pursue a law degree.

A registered architect, Hollinberger recently retired after a 27-year career with the US Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps. In the Navy, he held various jobs in construction management, facilities management, contract management, and financial management, and has lived and worked in Iceland, Panama, London, Spain, Somalia, Cuba, Georgia, Mississippi, San Diego, Monterey, Charleston, and Washington DC.

Hollinberger received the Bachelor of Architecture from K-State in 1979, and while at K-State he was a resident advisor, a member of Blue Key, and President of Design Council. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, International Facilities Management Association, and the Society of American Military Engineers. His son, brother, and brother-in-law are all engineers.

Kerri Day Keller, director of career and employment services, said Hollinberger is an excellent addition to an already outstanding CES team. “His enthusiasm and professionalism will be valuable assets to the K-State community,” Keller said.

Hollinberger welcomes the opportunity to consult with students on their job search via individual advising, classroom presentations and other outreach activities. He may be reached at 785.532.1685 or tomh@ksu.edu
