Information for participating Employers
(Students enrolled in the program should navigate to the “current students” link at upper right).
Students enrolled in the Degree Program have two options for academic internship: 1.) During the summer after completion of third year studies (10 weeks), or 2.) During the second semester of the fourth year (16-30 weeks). Interior Architecture and Product Design students can earn a full-semester of credit by participating in a professional internship. This internship sequence allows the students to gain a professional perspective while working in their chosen emphasis, gaining added insight and focus to their design studies. Students may still opt for a 3-month unmonitored internship during semester breaks, however no academic credit is granted for this added experience.
To ensure maximum benefit to the employer, the students, and the Department of Interior Architecture and Product Design, the academically monitored internships extend from January 1st to August 1st, and interns must be compensated. The sponsor is asked to provide a variety of experience to the students and report to the internship coordinator (Vicky Borchers) twice during the internship period.
NOTE: Postings for spring / summer 2008 30-week academic internships need to be submitted by October 31, 2007.
