MANHATTAN - Annie Chu, founding principal of the award-winning firm Chu+Gooding Architects in Los Angeles, California, will be delivering APDesign’s annual diversity lecture at 4:30 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2012, in the Little Theatre in the K-State Student Union. Chu’s lecture is titled “Slow Motion” and is free and open to the public.

MANHATTAN - To get a design education at the College of Architecture, Planning & Design at Kansas State University is to get one of the best in the country.

DesignIntelligence magazine ranked all three of the college’s eligible programs among the top 10 graduate programs in the nation, according to the newly released “America’s Best Architecture & Design Schools 2012” issue. The landscape architecture program is No. 3 in the country; the architecture program is No. 5; interior architecture & product design ranks as the seventh best program in the U.S.

The Student Planning Association in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design at Kansas State University has received the New Horizon Award from the American Planning Association — Kansas for their “Boxhattan” project presented at K-State’s Open House in spring 2011. The award is given for pushing the boundaries of planning in creative and innovative ways.
