The Kansas State University College of Architecture, Planning and Design is pleased to announce a lecture by one of its alumni. Gary W. Collins, AIA, will present Selling Like Your Career Depends Upon It, Because It Does at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in the Little Theatre of the K-State Student Union. The presentation is open to the public without charge. Gary W. Collins, AIA, is an associate principal with Anshen + Allen Architects, an international healthcare design firm with offices in San Francisco, Seattle, Columbus, Boston and London, England. Collins received a bachelor of architecture and a bachelor of science from K-State in 1976. Licensed in Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana, and Illinois, he is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Collins is a member of the AIA/Academy of Architecture for Health and serves as the president of the Health Care Council of the International Facility Management Association. During his nearly 32 years of experience, Collins has worked with a variety of architectural and engineering firms from his early beginnings in a two-person firm. His experience also includes positions with a landscape architecture firm, a minority architecture firm, a design-build firm, a construction management firm, and three top 10 healthcare design firms. He began his architectural career as a draftsman and then proceeded to move up through the ranks as a project architect, project manager, director of marketing, director of healthcare marketing, and into national business development leadership roles. Currently, Collins lives in Chicago, reports to the San Francisco office of Anshen +Allen, and supports the Seattle and Boston offices through business development activities across the country.
