The
founder and principal of Colorado
firm BASIS Architecture will lecture at the Kansas State University College of
Architecture, Planning and Design. Steve
Lane, AIA, will present
The Work of BASIS Architecture:
Architecture in the Mountains
on Wednesday, February 13, at 3:30 p.m. in the Little Theatre of the
K-State Student Union. The lecture is open to the public at no charge.
Steve Lane
has more than 15 years of experience and is licensed in Colorado,
Arizona and Wyoming. He received his bachelor of
architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
He began his career working for the largest commercial real estate company in Albany, New York, before
moving to Colorado
in 1993. Working in Denver,
he was involved with many of the early projects in the revitalization of the
city’s downtown.
BASIS Architecture was established in 1999 in Estes Park, Colorado,
and quickly grew from a single-person firm into a small company with a current
staff of five. The firm maintains a strong local presence while providing
services to clients across Northern Colorado and the Rocky
Mountains.
Lane has designed, pro bono, homes for the local Habitat for Humanity, received
an “Outstanding Professionalism” award from Larimer County, and was listed in the
Northern Colorado Business Report’s inaugural “40 under 40” featuring
up-and-coming professionals.
