e. Installing File and Printer Sharing
Installing File and Printer sharing is optional. It can be dangerous if you do not know how to secure and protect your shares. If you do not know how to manage your shares or assign security permissions, we recommend against installing this service. Again, this service is optional and it CAN be installed at a later time when you are more knowledgeable.
If you choose not to install this service you are ready for Part 5, Test connectivity and configurations. Please remember, your studio needs to have network connectivity turned on before you can continue to Part 5.
If you choose to install this service proceed to step one below:
1. Left click Install:
2. Select Service then click Add:
3. Left click File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks then click OK:
4. Make sure File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is checked in:
5. Click OK and close out of all the Windows by clicking OK. If it asks you to restart, go ahead and restart your computer. You are ready for Part 5 Confirm your Connection. Please remember your studio needs to have network connectivity turned on before you can perform Part 5.
