A. Malware
Before we can proceed to updates it is best to make sure your computer is free of any malware which can cause the update process to fail or corrupt the install of an update causing the operating system to become unstable requiring a format or re-install.
This year we are only requiring Service Pack 2 to be installed before network connectivity is enabled in studios. If you already have Service Pack 2 installed then you don’t need to install this program at this time. However, if you plan on patching later and if your worried your computer might be infected with malware, feel free to install this and run it when network connectivity is restored.
