Landscape Architecture 1993 Alumni Honoree [ First | Previous | Next | Last ] |
LINDA CLELAND made good impressions early as a student, and continues to contribute to the Department of Landscape Architecture and the profession in many ways. A native of Baldwin City, Kansas, Linda was an articulate, thorough, aggressive student, and very much a perfectionist. In fact, she was the first female student to win the annual national ASLA Distinguished Undergraduate Student Award. A licensed landscape architect in both California and Kansas, she is currently Associate/Planning Manager for Nolte and Associates, Inc. of Sacramento. Linda's primary areas of expertise include public participation programs, client representation and public presentation, land use analysis and planning, project conceptual design and specific plans, and landscape design. Balancing the needs of broad stroke planning with the details of site planning and landscape architecture, Linda's projects have been as varied as a drainage master plan, land use analyses and planning for residential developments and golf courses, site planning and design for a hospital, and landscaping and irrigation design for an elementary school. A charter member of the Department of Landscape Architecture Advisory Council, Linda has many community and professional affiliations including serving as design competition juror for the California Department of Rehabilitation, and as President and Executive Board Member, California Central Valley Chapter, American Society of Landscape Architects. |
