SOM - Students in the K-State College of Architecture, Planning, and design have received a Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM) Foundation Traveling Fellowship, considered to be the most prestigious award in American architectural education, more often than any other undergraduate school.  Eight times since 1991, a K-State student has won the SOM undergraduate award.  Seven of those eight times, the award has gone to a graduating architecture student.  The eighth award was won by a graduating interior architecture student in the first year of a new competition category for interior architecture.  Past SOM recipients include:
